Last week, we had exciting but slightly scared of what happened at school – we had a big test It was allot of mixed emotions, I went from nervousness to relax. The ELA test had all kinds of things I didn’t know but some I did– you call it! Some questions were easy, but others made my brain hurt! I was like, “What in the world is this, Bruh!”
So, I found this SBA site to look up about the testing and what it is. The SBA is about testing what children are learning. It stands for Smarter Balanced Assessment. The tests should take 3 to 4 hours for each subject. Every student has to take the SBAs. The SBA is a Washington state test, and it tests Math and ELA. State testing is important because it makes sure all the public-school students get a high education. It doesn’t matter what school the student goes to. The district website has said, “This information assists districts and schools in improving instructional practices and curriculum and gives families valuable information about how well their student is doing and where additional help might be needed.” So, we have to take this test to make sure we can do better as students.
So, when test day arrived, I tried to be the best I can. When I walked in, the classroom felt calm, super quiet with just the aching of my head about this test. It was terrible! But you know? We all gave it our best shot. During the test, I looked around and saw everyone concentrating so hard. Some people were zipping through the questions, while others were taking their time. Me? I was somewhere in the middle, trying not to let my head play mind tricks on me! When the teacher said, “Ok your time’s up”, I felt chill and excited. I did it! I survived the test! Sure, tests can be scary, but they’re also kind of like a puzzle. You never know what challenges you’ll face, but if you stay brave and give it your all, you’ll come out on top!
