South Shore’s Pi Night, being led by Mx. Malmgren and Ms. Mizuta turned out to be quite a success. Now let’s talk about PI. When people hear the word PI the first thing that comes to mind is the food. Well, here we are talking about math. PI is a mathematical constant that is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, approximately equal to 3.14159. Anyways pi night was an event that was to show that math is not always about sitting down and listening to someone babble all day. It was to show math can be fun and enjoyable. They did that by making math games and setting up stands in the rotunda for different games. In addition to that there was pizza and pie there too! Pi day was on March 14 because that date corresponds with the first three digits of pi (3.14). But pi night is an event to make math fun for all. Now for our winners that night!
